The Time Is Now for Figuring Out What’s Important

Greetings!

The time is now

We’re in the homestretch for 2020 and in the holiday season. It means it’s the time of the year when you take stock of the last 365 days and assess how far you’ve gotten with your goals, and be grateful for the blessings you have. More importantly, it’s time to reflect upon what is important to you.

Is it your family? Is it your health? Maybe it’s giving back? All of the above? I previously discussed finding your inspiration within the Seven Pillars. I also wrote about knowing your “why”, and shared the worksheet that can help you figure out the true motivation that lies in your Bold Goals. Today, it’s about acknowledging that now–the time during the holidays and prior to the New Year–is when you should be taking a closer look at what’s important.

It’s no coincidence that we have this reflective period before the New Year comes. The holidays mark the end of the year, and all those hours spent with loved ones–right before when many commit to resolutions–means a closer look at what we are grateful for and the ways we might want to make the upcoming year better than the last.

That’s right, all the self-examination we do when we look around the table and see the contented expressions of family members after a satisfying meal, or the joy on their faces when they open their presents, should lead us to the step of figuring out what we want to accomplish next. I know all the time spent with family and friends over the holidays motivates me to figure the “what” and “why” of my next Bold Goals!

I actually have for years used the holidays to ask my family these types of reflective questions. I also get some funny faces when I do!

It’s no secret that the paths to the Pillars where our Bold Goals lie will likely be winding ones. It’s also no secret that these paths are hidden behind doors that conceal what our journeys will be like. And the world throws us curveballs and challenges.

However, only by knowing what’s important and where our true inspiration lies, can we truly prepare ourselves for the unknown path ahead. And now–with the holidays in full swing and the New Year looming on the horizon–is the time to figure it all out!

The time to choose the door to your goals is now

Remember: before you set your goals, work out your why. And do it now!

I am grateful for your support in 2020. I hope you have a blessed holiday.

Stay Bold!
